VPP’s approach is based on our strong belief that:

• There is a great unmet need for services for children of low-income families.
  
• There are established and emerging nonprofit organizations that have workable approaches to meeting these needs.
  
• Nonprofit organizations are stretched thinner than ever as federal, state, and local governments scale back their own funding for social services and pass to nonprofits greater and greater responsibility for delivering those services.
  
• The available base of wealth, knowledge, and other resources in this country could be better leveraged to help children if it is used to assist high-potential organizations to grow and become even more effective.
