The value VPP brings to its investment partners goes well
beyond what VPP’s investment team alone can deliver.
Our investment team is the “delivery arm” for
VPP, but it is only one part of a much broader network of
support—one that reaches across the nonprofit, for-profit,
and government sectors and expands our expertise and reach
exponentially. By tapping into this broad network, we can
make available to our investment partners a full spectrum
of resources and contacts that might otherwise be difficult
for them to access. For example, we can help them find outstanding
candidates for their boards, engage specialists in information
systems or outcomes assessment, meet potential donors or
strategic partners, or gain a greater voice in relevant
government budget decisions.
Our network is made up of concentric rings of support around our investment partners:
VPP Investment Team: Our investment team brings "seasoned executive management" experience to the community-based nonprofit organizations with which we work. They are responsible for working with and advising our investment partners and connecting them with the most appropriate outside resources.
Core Network: VPP's Investors, Board, advisors to the board, strategic partners and the leaders of our investment partners make up our "core network." This group of extremely experienced and talented individuals provides the deepest level of support to our investment partners after VPP's investment team, bringing knowledge, resources, and guidance and opening new doors of opportunity.
External Network -- formal: Our formal external network consists of firms and consultants with whom VPP has a structured, ongoing relationship. These groups focus on areas for strengthening and growing organizations that are crucial to the success of our investment partners: comprehensive strategic planning, human capital development, and more. They represent some of the best talent in these areas and have been thoroughly screened and vetted by VPP staff.
External Network -- informal: The outermost ring of support for our investment partner includes individuals and organizations from a wide range of fields and sectors, including government, business, foundations, higher education, and the media. Our team reaches out to this informal network to get our investment partners the contacts and help they need.
